Job Brief

We are looking for a Junior Frontend Developer to join our team from the very beginning.
We need someone who is passionate about developing innovative solutions to stop climate change, someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment, and someone who won’t shy away from getting their hands dirty and thinking on their feet!
Join us from the beginning and become a pivotal member of the team as we create a platform that will supercharge sustainability!

What You’ll Do

As a Junior Frontend Engineer, you will manage the front-end of our Product using a component-based web framework (such as ReactJS or VueJS), whilst receiving guidance and direction from our Senior Full Stack Developer, and working closely with our Head of Product.

Duties Include:

  • Developing and improving our current architecture,
  • Building and improving the data visualisations that help our clients to understand their carbon footprint,
  • Developing a consistent UI and UX across the platform and our online presence,
  • Optimizing the front-end for maximum speed and scalability,
  • Working closely with the back-end team to ensure usability and performance levels,
  • Help shape the future of a fast-growing Engineering team

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a deep understanding of CSS3, HTML5, Javascript.
  • experience in component-based web frameworks such as React or Vue.js (you’ll have the opportunity to shape the technical architecture)
  • a clear way of expressing technical concepts, and writing technical documentation,
  • an interest in sustainability, and by excited to change how companies can become carbon neutral

What You’ll Do

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be comfortable with both front- and back-end technologies, especially regarding the setup and manipulation of databases for web platforms. You’ll be working with the CTO who has built the platform so far, as well as our Head of Product.

Duties Include:

  • developing the front-end architecture alongside our Junior Front-End Developer,
  • working with our AWS hosted cloud infrastructure and PostgreSQL database, under the instruction of our Software Architect, designing and developing APIs,
  • take a lead role in implementing development best practices that support rapid scaling as a business,
  • Helping to shape the future of a fast-growing Engineering team

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience of API architecture and implementation, and working experience with Node.js, Python or Go is a plus
  • A deep understanding of web & database testing technologies and frameworks
  • A working understanding of SQL - prior experience w/ PostgreSQL is a plus
  • Experience with automated testing incl. compatibility & performance testing
  • Experience working in a small team with rapid scrum cycles
  • an interest in sustainability, and by excited to change how companies can become carbon neutral
