About the Role

We are seeking a Mid-level Backend Developer to join our engineering team at Alectro. In this role, you will be instrumental in both the development and maintenance of scalable, and maintainable code. Your responsibilities will range from solving complex problems, to programming and coding robust backend services. You will collaborate with diverse teams across the stack to execute projects that align with our objectives.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Problem Solving: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs and issues, demonstrating an ability to work independently and apply critical thinking skills.
• Programming and Coding: Develop and maintain backend services that ensure robustness and reliability, focusing on autonomous task management and diligent execution.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Work alongside other developers across the stack, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver efficient solutions which align to the company objectives. Demonstrate flexibility in both solo and team settings to achieve project goals.

About You

You’re someone who brings a mix of talents to the team, including:

• Technical Skills: You have a solid grounding in backend technologies and experience in TypeScript and Node.js, understanding of code versioning and control tools like Git.
• Growth Mindset: You will have 1-2 years of experience, and be looking to cement yourself as a Mid-Level Developer after working as a Junior Developer.
• Learning and Adaptability: With a positive, can-do attitude, you’re enthusiastic about tackling new challenges and developing technical skills and capabilities.
• Attention to Detail: You pride yourself on the quality of your work and don’t overlook the smaller details.
• Communication: You thrive in a team environment, contributing to a collaborative, inclusive workplace.
• Organisational Skills: You excel in time management, meticulously document your code, and effectively communicate updates and relevant information to stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Using

Our stack includes:

• TypeScript to write our application code
• Node.js (Express) as the framework for building out efficient server-side logic and robust APIs
• PostgreSQL handles our data storage needs with reliability
• AWS is used for the majority of our infrastructure
• We integrate CI/CD to make sure we are efficiently testing and deploying, to do so, we use GitHub Actions for the main deployment and tools like Jest for testing, and ESLint for code quality control, and others to maintain a consistent development environment

About the Role

We're seeking a growth associate who is committed to sustainability, is passionate about introducing innovative solutions, and brings outstanding communication skills.

As a growth associate, your role is to look for new prospects, reach out to them, and talk to them to understand their needs and know exactly how we can help. You'll work closely with our Account Executive and Co-Founder, generating qualified leads and learning from their guidance and best practices.

Because this role requires you to work in a fast-paced environment, to think on your feet, and to implement feedback constantly, there is the possibility to grow rapidly into a senior role.

Location: This role is on-site with our Berlin Team.

Responsibilities

• Identify companies and people to target in the UK and EU
• Use cold calling, emailing, social media, and other channels to reach out to your leads
• Qualify these leads and pitch Alectro's value proposition on the phone and over video calls
• Follow up with your KPIs and leads
• Identify and actively address sales inefficiencies and leverage tools to speed up our sales cycle

Qualifications We Look For

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A hunter's mindset—you will have to pick up the phone daily
• The ability to take ownership of our customers’ first impressions of Alectro
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment
• Proficiency with productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRM systems like Hubspot) is a plus
