If your company has fewer than 10 employees, you’re considered a micro business. Micro businesses are often exempt from formal carbon reporting. If this applies to you, simply select Yes and return the form to your client.
This section refers to your organisation’s public commitment to reducing emissions.
Sustainability Policy
Share your sustainability policy, if one exists.
Carbon Reporting / Carbon Reduction Plan / Public Reporting Page
This refers to an official document that details carbon reporting in tCO2e that has been shared publicly. UK Government guidance for completion of Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21 can be found online as a basic template if required, and any document should be similar to these guidelines.
Net Zero Commitment
State the year by which your organisation aims to achieve net zero emissions. This should be 2050 at the latest.
Your carbon footprint should align with the GHG Protocol: Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
Baseline Measurement: The first year you began reporting emissions. This serves as a benchmark for tracking future reductions.
Current Reporting Period: The most recent year of reported emissions. If this is your first year reporting, it will match the Baseline Year.
Scope 1: these emissions refer to direct greenhouse gas emissions produced by an organization's own activities or operations, such as emissions from on-site combustion of fossil fuels or company-owned vehicles.
Scope 2: these emissions are indirect greenhouse gas emissions associated with the generation of electricity, heat, or steam that an organization purchases or consumes. Market-based emissions account for the greenhouse gases associated with purchased energy using emission factors reflecting the environmental attributes of that energy, while location-based emissions rely on the average emissions intensity of the energy supply in a specific geographical location.
Scope 3: these emissions encompass all indirect greenhouse gas emissions that result from an organization's activities but occur from sources not owned or controlled by the organization, such as emissions from the supply chain, employee commuting, or customer product use.
Full-Time Employees (FTE): Average number of employees during the reporting period.
Emissions Intensity: This tCO2e / FTE value will calculate automatically, but can be added mannually if this is different from the straight division of 'Total emissions' / 'Full time employees'.
Please indicate which GHG Protocol Scope 3 categories are included. You can find detailed guidance here: https://ghgprotocol.org
Revenue: Providing revenue allows your client to calculate your emissions intensity and contribute to accurate Scope 3 reporting.
Please include information on your company’s procurement practices in the following areas:
Modern Slavery: Modern Slavery Due Diligence is a critical process that organizations undertake to identify, prevent, and address instances of forced labor and human trafficking within their supply chains and operations, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Environmentally Preferred Procurement: Environmentally Preferred Procurement prioritises the selection of services with lower environmental impacts, helping organizations reduce their footprint and promote sustainability.
This section allows you to report product- or service-specific emission factors related to sales to this company. Completing it helps ensure more accurate measurement of supply chain emissions.
What to do:
Question 8.1: Indicate whether you have specific emission factors for any of your products/services (Yes/No).
If Yes, complete the table with the following details for each relevant product/service:
SKU Code – The unique identifier for the product/service.
Item/Service Description – Name or type of product/service.
Unit of Measurement – How the product/service is measured (e.g., unit, hour, km), any primary data will be useful here.
Total Number of Units – Volume sold to this company.
Emission Factor per Unit (kg CO₂e) – Optional field, Greenhouse gas emissions associated with one unit.
Price per Country (GBP/unit) – Optional field to indicate cost by market.
Providing accurate data here enables better transparency, supports emissions tracking, and strengthens sustainability reporting.
You can leave unknown fields blank. However, your client will be informed that the data is incomplete.
If your organisation has previously measured emissions, the data should be available internally. If not, contact Alectro for assistance.
